The dazzling lights that surrounded her took her breathe away, she could do nothing but stare at the millions of flickering lights that were oblivious to her prying eyes. She knew it really shouldn't be that special, they were just millions of people that were up past their bedtime, non the less Venus couldn't help but tilt her head to the side watching the hustle and bustle of the buildings around her. She never realized that she was just like them, living in the future. Rushing to this and worrying about that. She sighed slightly as she pulled a loose thread from her brown long sleeve shirt, her mother had got it for her last time she had visited. The fact it was starting to fall apart was a clear signal she needed to visit her mother more, or that her mom needed to get her shit together. She glance up at the sky, she had come to Time square for a date set up by a friend but she had been waiting for what feels like an hour. In actuality it had only been half an hour but Venus was almost positive this boy had no real interest in dating her. The last time one of her friends set up a date for her she had been bored out of her mind with a clearly gay guy. It was her fault that she would even let her friends try and pair her up with someone. She doubted anyone would show, if anything she might get lucky and talk to some random stranger and actually have a nice conversation instead of having to cuddle with herself. She was surprised it was as cold as it was. Sure, the sun had gone down a few hours ago but she didn't realize that without the sun, the summer heat was quickly leaving New York. Venus clutched at her bright orange scarf, it was the indicator for her blind date. He was suppose to approach the girl in the orange scarf but apparently he either didn't wanna waste his time to see her or came, saw her and then decided she wasn't worth it. Venus's knuckles turned a brighter shade of white as she clutched the scarf in her hand. Men suck. She bitterly looked up at the night sky expecting clusters of stars scattered amongst the night. Her view was far from her expectation as she watched clouds roll by, the moonlight cast a weird glow but the lights from the city seemed to drown out the moon altogether. She grimaced, she was mad she hadn't seen the stars tonight, at the same time she would have been mad if she could see the stars. She was trying trying to find an outlet for her anger. Her mind kept going back to her blind date trying to picture all the nasty things she would say. She knew with her big mouth the boy would be in for a thorough verbal lashing. we've lost it all, the love is gone |
