Now if you are a civilian go nuts and throw as many punches as you would like but you will get hurt and you will be tired! If you do have an elemental affinity as you have been awakened you can only use attacks that Fate has posted underneath your bio. This is updated whenever something new is learned about your past life so don't worry. Again you will get hurt and probably very tired! You may be fighting another member or possibly a monster that Fate throws your way. Monsters are ranked from 1-3. 1 being the weakest opponent and 3 being the hardest. This ranking is done outside of character so your own character may think whatever they want! Civilians are automatically given a battle rank of .25 no matter what. If a character is awakened fate my post your knew battle rank in your biography. All these numbers will be used to make a success ratio. Fate then generates a random number and depending on the number and the ratio the fight will a different outcome. Ex. Strong Awakened Fire Godling (1) and Strong Awakened Ice Godling (1) vs. level one Monster (1) numbers 1-6 used. 1, 3, 4, and 6 for the Godlings. 2 and 5 for the Monster. number generated: 5. Monster victory Death happens everyday, and it happens here too. The 'Good guys' might not always win here as we want members to have a somewhat realistic RP experience. Even if your character in a past life did die doing something heroic does not mean your awakened character will die the same way, heck it doesn't even mean they will die. Past lives happened in the past so it is up to you to make the present. ANYWAY! Death happens even if it isn't wanted! The possibility is always there but it is up to how you role play it out that determines the end. For example, if Fate says that you lose a battle it does not mean you must die, you have lots of options and one of them might be to run. Be realistic, if your character broke a leg earlier on in the thread there is no way you can run away. So be careful and creative, we encourage member to be realistic and if you think your character breaks a leg that also doesn't mean they die, there is more than one way to take a lose. At the same time it is up to you how you take a victory! Keep that in mind! We encourage you to take risks but take healthy risks, don't take on a level three elemental if you are a civilian. 02 fate Fate has been mentioned a lot and it is something to look out for! Fate is an npc, out of character force controlled by the admins! Fate determines lots of things such as who is awakened and what they are awakened into. It also determines how much knowledge a character has of their past life as well as determines battle outcomes. Once a character is awakened (there are multiple ways this can happen) Fate will outline their memories, attacks, control of their powers, what they are capable of, strengths and weaknesses. Every so often Fate will post to start an event as well. This brings me to my next point! Events are just that; events that happen. They are posted randomly, sometimes with a heads up and sometimes without. Sometimes they are parties that are happening and other times they are battles that happen at a certain destination. Every so often their will be a weird one where more knowledge for a God can be found or even a special item. For each event thread there will have different rules and progression, as well as outline what kinds of people may join. So pay attention to starting posts! They are not the only way to gain cool things like knowledge, information, become awakened but they are the most common way. Besides it is a great way to push the plot ahead! Fate may also post in normal threads to surprise you. This may be as a Monster or maybe even a strange event you witness... you never know! Please don't ask Fate to intervene as it is a way to keep things interesting. You will be ignored if you ask for Fate post! Now Fate is an interesting thing. Yes, what Fate posts is law but at the same time you are more than welcome to build off of those laws. We are not saying go look for loop holes but make things interesting yourself! If Fate says that a "Fire Monster shoots fire at you" It does not say anything else catches fire so feel free to build off of it as Fate does not drag along events, members do too! Now please don't abuse this as just because the fire attack was shot at you it doesn't mean that it drops a cool item too. If something is not stated that is important it does not happen. Please don't power play destiny! Everything is up to the discretion of the members really! Use this privilege responsibly as it may be taken away if it is abused. Fate gives members something to react to but how you react is totally up to you! If you like getting hit with fire then by all means get hit!
