Running was something that Audrey Wright was never fond of, but found herself doing on a semi-regular basis. Actually, the occurrences of her dreaded run had actually increased in frequency - something that slightly frightened the leggy woman. Though she was athletic and enjoyed the feeling of the adrenaline coursing through her veins and the wind at her back, she could due without all of the panting and heaving that associated the damned activity. Audrey could not fool herself, though. No matter what reason she provided, there was a single cause for distain: running itself. Being one who liked to face their problems and deal with life head on, even just the word run left Audrey feeling slightly uneasy. In Audrey Wright's calculating mind, the world run equated to escape, which is something she would never do.
Letting these thoughts of escape consume her, Audrey barely focused on the music playing through her headphones. As her mind wandered, her body slipped into autopilot and she moved without any conscious thought. Even with her distant gaze, heavy breaths, and sweaty brow, Audrey could feel the eyes of onlookers settle on her running figure. Resembling a gazelle with her natural grace, they looked on, transfixed by Audrey and the spell she unknowingly cast on those around her. With her own eyes set on the trail before her, she kept on her way.
Eventually, Audrey's mind seemed void of all thought. Loosing herself underneath the warm sun, she decided to savour the moment and the nice weather. A small smile of satisfaction slowly crept onto her thin lips as Audrey's legs began to change pace. Feeling the accomplishment of completing her routine 4K run, Audrey began to slow to a walk. Removing her earbuds, she looked up to the sky and enjoyed the song her surroundings were playing for her.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][classy=soeul]our eyes meeting with a certain look within a caged up world[/classy][classy=mates]pretending not to know but even so my spark of interest might be seen[/classy] | "Arasso, arasso. I got it." The Korean talked into his phone somewhat impatiently, drawing looks from nearby people as he paced around, an unintelligible amount of fast speaking in Korean rapidly escaped his lips. "Geunuh." He slammed his mobile shut, a frustrated look on his face, as he muttered a string of Korean curse words. Why was mother calling him now, of all reasons? Couldn't he have some sense of freedom now that he was in America? He was doing a damn horrible job at remaining inconspicuous, but he didn't care. Hyun Ki's parents didn't care enough about him to find him and drag him back to Korea, or they would have done so already. They just haven't found a business partner to strike up a deal with for him, yet. Or they were just waiting for his father to keel over so that he could take over. Whichever one came first. As much hate as he had for his parents, he found himself oddly lonely in his big mansion, though loneliness was something he had been left with ever since the day he was born. So what was new?
He noticed people staring at him, and a well placed glare was sent their way. Hyun Ki didn't need people thinking him a loon, although at the moment he couldn't care less. Hadn't he explicitly told his parents not to bother him while he was studying overseas? Leave it to his Omma to completely disregard his request and think about only herself. How many times did he get her threatening to take those pills again? First his dad, now him. His mom would never stop, and would stoop that low to get what she wanted, like she always did. In a way, she was even more spoiled than he was, which was an excruciatingly hard thing to accomplish. Trying to let the course of his anger go, he sighed (he still sounded angry), and plopped himself on one of the park benches.
What was he doing here again? Oh right, fresh air. And hopefully encounter another beautiful lady that he would seduce. For once he was actually in something that didn't resemble a tuxedo. He would never wear something like jeans, but he was pretty damn close to looking somewhat like an American teenager. A change, and he was thinking that it was for the worse. Right now, he would die to have a hot girl with him at the moment, but the three month rule was up for the last girl and he was alone. Well, better off without the crybaby. He sighed, closed his eyes for a bit, and thought a little. What am I doing with my life? He knew he was wasting it, but it wasn't like he could do anything about it, now could he? Hyun Ki was much too deep down the rabbit hole.
Upon opening his eyes, they settled on a familiar figure, though one Hyun Ki had never been with before. He smiled. Well, maybe not all is lost. A well known scholar at Columbia U, she was very much known as being the ice queen, unfortunately for Hyun Ki. He frowned slightly, his gaze transfixed on her. Thinking none too pure thoughts about her. He could always test his skills, and hopefully he could come off as someone more considerate than he really was. Due to his reputation, it was probably harder than if he were a regular guy, but he hoped his skills could show through. Perhaps he might even get lucky and the lady would approach him. Though, coming from the ice queen, it was unlikely. But why not wait a bit, see what happened, before completely giving himself away?

Basking in its warmth, she rolled her shoulders make, releasing some of the tension she carried there. Still smirking, Audrey felt her pulse beating rhythmically and respiration return to its normal rate. Once feeling that her body had regained found its equilibrium, Audrey tore her eyes from the sky and turned on her heels, ready to head home and have a warm shower.
Admittedly, less people stared at Audrey as she walked this time, but the woman did not mind. As she retraced her steps and began to trek home, she became more aware of her surroundings. She did not block out the images she saw in her peripheral vision, and the snapping of branches caused her head to turn. What caused her head to whip around though, was the harsh baritone of a man speaking abruptly into a phone. Her deep blue eyes locked onto the man almost instantly, and Audrey rolled her eyes. It was none other than Hyun Ki, one of Columbia's most notorious play boys, no doubt calling it off with his "girl friend", leaving yet another woman broken hearted. Far from impressed, Audrey's pace did not waver as she felt his own chocolaty eyes lock onto hers.
Guessing what vile and inappropriate thoughts were running through the young man's mind, Audrey shook her head slightly before returning her attention to her trail. As she continued to walk, she could practically feel his gaze burning into her skin - a sensation that Audrey could live without. She was unsure if she felt like a bug under a magnifying glass or simply a piece of prey, but either way Audrey was not going to stick around to figure out which. Tilting her head the slightest but upward so her chin was held higher in the air, she walked purposefully away from the probably charming man with undoubtedly un-noble intentions.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][classy=soeul]our eyes meeting with a certain look within a caged up world[/classy][classy=mates]pretending not to know but even so my spark of interest might be seen[/classy] | As his dark brown eyes scanned her figure up and down, not bothering to mask his obvious lust for her. Hell with it all, he didn't care if he drew looks, as she was absolutely stunning. However, Hyun Ki knew that she wouldn't take kindly to his ravishing gaze on her, so he reluctantly raised his eyes to meet her own deep blue ones. When he saw her looking at him as well, he flashed a smile, a half-hearted one, but one that could capture an average woman's heart in an instant. But she was no average woman. He looked at her, and there was no doubt recognition somewhere in her eyes, though Hyun Ki had yet to find any trace of it. But then again, this wasn't surprising, since he was facing the ice queen of Columbia University. Probably not the only one, but the most well known. Surprising, how their reputations clashed, and yet he was showing his interest in her. He had his sights set, and this was a challenge that he would meet up to. Or completely shatter. It didn't really matter, though he would hate to be on her list of rejected men. However, coaxing the women would be hard, especially since, as she looked at him, she didn't bother to come hither. No matter, more fun for him with teasing his pray.
But as she was walking away, Hyun Ki stayed rooted at his spot, enjoying the view before getting up and following her. His eyes were all over her body, since he couldn't help himself. He felt like a young boy again. He wondered if she had ever slept with anyone, for a fleeting woman. Hyun Ki supposed she had - or at least had everyone assume so. However, knowing her personality, he had the sneaking suspicion she might still be - dare he say the word? Untouched. At first he was only interested so that he could brag about getting into the all famous ice queen's pants, but this would be even better. However, he didn't count on it, seeing as he'd be sorely disappointed. He knew that his usual tricks probably wouldn't work on her, his dashing smile and all, but if he could convince her to go on one date -- one date, Hyun Ki was sure he could convince her.
The problem was getting that date. He couldn't prove himself to be separate from his reputation (which didn't lie about him, although he had never actually confirmed it), not without getting her to listen to him for perhaps one night. Other women were easy to please, a kind smile and politeness that could rival royalty was usually all it took. A sob story maybe, completely made up in his mind. However, he was sure that Audrey Wright would not be amused with this. He'd think of something, he was sure of that. A nice, perhaps 'romantic' date of some sort. But he couldn't do something cliche. That would be trying too hard.
"Excuse me, Miss." He smiled kindly, and tried erasing all the mischief from his eyes.
He was sure that he was failing.

Forty-six seconds later, she head a deep, velvety voice call out to her. It was a polite enough call, with an alluring edge to it, no doubt being used to coax Audrey to the voice's owner. The woman did not have to think twice about who was calling out to her. With the false sincerity dripping off his voice, Audrey was seriously tempted not to turn around. Rolling her eyes a second time, Audrey sucked it up and whipped around.
With a kind smile plastered on his open face, Hyun Ki simply stood staring at her. Though his trademark smirk was replaced with this more genuine one, it did not mask the mischief that subtly danced behind his eyes. Keeping her face expressionless, Audrey walked toward him and tried to hide her own annoyance. This was Hyun Ki she was approaching - why the pre tense and the "miss"? Chances were, he was still a man whore, so why waste his time trying to woo her? This last thought made Audrey feel slightly better. Maybe she really was not wasting her time - maybe the handsome man had straightened himself out and legitimately needed her...
Her azure eyes locked onto his warm, chocolate ones. With discrete scrutiny, she studied him. The confidence and sureness that radiated off him was practically suffocating. In combination with the playful gaze, Audrey knew this was not a reformed man she would be speaking with. Inwardly cursing for being so naive, she could not very well walk away now. Sucking in a breath, at this point Audrey's only hope was that he would not consume much of her time with this foolishness.
"Yes?" She asked, her voice its usual professional tone with only the slightest hint of malice seeping in. That single word was all she offered him - was all she was going to give him. Raising a dark eyebrow, Audrey placed her hands on her hips and wondered if the man at least had the decency to use different lines on methods on his numerous women.
He was a rake, after all.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][classy=soeul]our eyes meeting with a certain look within a caged up world[/classy][classy=mates]pretending not to know but even so my spark of interest might be seen[/classy] | He forced himself to keep looking at the area above Audrey's chest. He didn't want to seem like a complete byuntae at the first meeting. Then again, he didn't want to stray off his character so much that it was unbelievable. However, he was sure staring at her chest like a lusty college boy (which wasn't actually far off from what he actually was), would not gain him any advantage in the situation. In actually, it would probably decrease his chances in scoring with her. And he wouldn't want that, would he? Now that he's made his move, there was no turning back, as his pride would not allow it. Hyun Ki had made up his mind, and there was definitely no changing it. He was more than positive that he would get rejected, once twice, maybe three times. And as much as he knew that would hurt his ego very very much, he was determined to see it out. There was never a girl that he couldn't get his pants into, and Audrey could not be an exception. She just couldn't.
When she turned around, he made extra sure that his smile was genuine, although the hint of mischief just couldn't be gotten rid of, no matter how much he tried. Hyun Ki supposed that it was just written in his genetic code, though he wasn't sure how that was possible. She had a nice face. She had a body to match it too, but he fought with all his might not to look down. Instead he just pictured the images from just a few moments before, when he first spotted her and enjoyed the time just looking at her before approaching. Though, he would be lying if he said that it didn't sting his pride when her cold, emotional voice responded to his question. Was that - was that a hint of malice in her voice? Sure, he was known as a complete man whore, but he hadn't actually done anything wrong. All the girls he went out with knew what they were getting themselves in. Only, they had thought they would be the one to change him when he showed his interest, but it was never the case. It would never be the case.
"You're Audrey Wright, right?" He search quickly through his brain for something, anything, before she got fed up. She emanating impatience. His mind hopped on common ground, perhaps their only common ground. Columbia University. In his mind, he was smiling, an idea popping into his head. "And you're majoring in Psychology..." She was, right?
"I was just wondering if you'd help me out. I wanted to try majoring in Music Psychology, so I signed up for a Psychology class. Unfortunately, I don't seem to get the course at all... I heard you were the one to go to, so I thought maybe you could help me out?" It wasn't a complete fib, but it was borderline. He was telling the truth about Music Psychology, and the Psychology, but he actually got the course and found it a little enjoyable. Which was much more enjoyable than he had originally thought the class to be. "I didn't want to ask you, but I'm at my wit's end. I'll beg if I have to..."

Her eyebrows twitched the slightest bit as Hyun Ki took a pause to draw in a breath before suffocating Audrey in bull shit. Crossing her arms over her chest, the moment Hyun Ki opened his mouth to speak was the moment she decided that their conversation was over. But Audrey was reserved, not rude, so her lip formed a tight line as she listened to the charmer attempt to work his magic.
His voice was deep and melodic - Audrey would give him that - but the words themselves were lost on her. To start their conversation confirming her identity and major of study did nothing but aggravate the frigid woman further. Did he not realize they both practically wore signs on their backs around campus, providing the entire the university population with this information? Or was the man too distracted by her chest to remember such basic facts? Before Audrey had a chance to mull the musician's intelligence over further, Hyun Ki won his struggled and averted his eyes, redirecting them to her face, and continued spewing his verbal diarrhoea without giving Audrey a chance to reply. Granted, this was likely the smartest thing the man had done yet.
When Hyun Ki continued on talking and later asked for her help however, a thin eyebrow shot up and the line she formed with her lips softened. As much as Audrey hated to admit it, at least the bastard was original. How many other women had he likely tried to charm to help him in his Music Psychology course? And then to have him offer to beg? As his smooth voice trailed off convincingly, Audrey's lip's actually began to twitch upward in a small smile. The rest of her face remained hard and unmoving, but her eyed the slightest hint of amusement as she pondered how many other individuals of her gender would love to be in her shoes right now with Hyun Ki Kim begging before them.
She waited several heartbeats before opening her mouth to speak, letting Hyun Ki's voice linger in the air between them. Her eyes scrutinized the man - it was easy to judge his actions and criticize his morals - but at least he was bold and had the guts to peruse his... conquests. With the small smirk still gracing her composed face, Audrey spoke in a dry tone, a combination of amusement and distaste in her voice, "Begging will hardly be necessary, Mr. Kim."
Neither a confirmation nor rejection, Audrey avoided directly answering Hyun Ki's desperate plea. Inwardly, she hoped that her response was enough to distract him so she could make her mistake and continue about her day. Her words had been civil - even if brief - which was almost an accomplishment in its own right... considering the who they were, anyway.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][classy=soeul]our eyes meeting with a certain look within a caged up world[/classy][classy=mates]pretending not to know but even so my spark of interest might be seen[/classy] | Good thinking for something on the spur of the moment. To beg... He was going to beg! No, he wouldn't really, not in reality, but hinting at it couldn't hurt, could it? Hyun Ki knew that his pride would never allow him to, not unless he was in dire need of some sort of assistance, or something that warranted begging. As the Korean stared at her, he was at least satisfied with himself for not getting a immediate rejection. And it seemed as though she were amused that he would offer himself to beg at her feet as well, though the only thing to prove his notion was the slight smirk that graced his conversation 'partner's' lips. Though, seconds ticked by and Hyun Ki felt, with each passing moment, that the air around the two university students hung heavily. It was as though he could cut the tension with a knife, though it was the kind of tension he was hoping for. He was filled with doubts already, just because of what she was known as, but he held an air of confidence in himself. Would she accept? Would she decline? Hyun Ki was anxious to know her answer.
He didn't like being held in suspense, but what could he do while Audrey was (hopefully) contemplating her answer. So he held his tongue, hoping not to anger the ice queen with his impatience, and tried to work on calming down his anxiety. He could get rejected. No, he was most likely going to get rejected. He wasn't exactly a pessimist, but even an idiot could tell that was his fate. Even though the time that passed between his request was probably no more than a few seconds, it felt a bit longer towards him. What the hell was taking her so damn long? Maybe he had set his standards too hi this time. He should have just gone to work so that rich women could flock over him and pay for his company, and then ultimately, pleasure. But it was too late now, with the hole he's dug himself in.
When her voice did ring out, he could have breathed a sigh of relief. However he didn't, and just let a smirk, one almost congruent to the one on Audrey's face, grace his features.
